Preparing for Marathon Makeover Kick Off!

Our 2012 season of Marathon Makeover for our area, kicks of on January 21.  That means most days between now and then are spent preparing for the year.  This morning we met with one of our sponsors, our local Clear Channel Radio Stations.  Pictured here with me is Kim Allen (left).  Kim is a much loved radio personality and a 3 time Marathon Makeover participant.  Kim helped us cut some ads that will be running for the next several weeks leading up to the kick-off meeting.  It is always interesting to watch how all of the "behind the scenes" stuff works. 

Visiting with Kim reminded me of one of the many reasons I love my job - I get to meet so many people that I would not otherwise know.  That's a true blessing in my life.  For some reason, each year we have a wonderful, diverse group of people that gather together to work towards a common goal - to train for and finish a marathon. 

Cutting those ads made me wonder about who I'll meet this year.  What kind of year will we have?  Who is that one person that will leave such a lasting impression that I won't be able to remember what is was like not knowing them?  There's always at least one!  We'll see...
